Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Trichology.com (“we”, “our”) uses cookies and similar storage technologies (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) on our websites and applications. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies like local storage and session storage save data in your browser in comparable ways. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” on this page.
Categories we use
- Strictly necessary — required to run the site, sign you in, and keep your session secure. These cannot be turned off. Example: your authentication session token.
- Functional — remember preferences you choose, such as theme, language, or which brand landing you last visited.
- Analytics — help us understand which pages are used so we can improve the service. We use privacy-respecting, aggregate measurement only; IP addresses are hashed before storage.
- Marketing — we do not currently set marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not allow third-party ad trackers. If this ever changes, we will update this page and request consent first.
Cookies and storage we set
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | localStorage | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to your account (Supabase auth session). | Until sign-out or token expiry |
theme | localStorage | Functional | Remembers your light/dark theme preference. | Until cleared by you |
brand | localStorage | Functional | Remembers the brand landing context you arrived through. | Until cleared by you |
cookie_consent | localStorage | Strictly necessary | Records your cookie preferences so we don't ask on every visit. | 12 months |
Exact names may vary slightly as the platform evolves. The categories and purposes above remain accurate.
Third parties
A small number of trusted sub-processors may set cookies on our behalf to deliver the service. These are described in our Privacy Policy and include, for example, our authentication and hosting providers. We do not permit third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
How to manage cookies
- In your browser — every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies. See your browser's help pages (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) for instructions.
- Do Not Track — we honor browser-level “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals where technically feasible.
- Sign-out — signing out clears your authentication session immediately.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or using account features.
Your privacy rights
Cookies that process personal data are covered by your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws. See our Privacy Policy for details on access, correction, deletion, and objection rights, and how to exercise them.
Changes
We'll update this page when our cookie use changes and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice.
